What We Provide
Our weight loss, semaglutide, tirzepatide, and glp-1 services
Lasting weight loss is medical, not cosmetic. It starts with understanding why your body holds weight, then pairs the right treatment with steady follow-up. Because internal medicine and endocrinology share this office, the hormonal side of weight is checked here too, not referred across town.
-
GLP-1 & Medication Therapy GLP-1 and other weight loss medications, prescribed and monitored under provider supervision.
-
Medical Evaluation & Labs A full health history and in-office lab work to understand what drives your weight.
-

-

-
Medication Management Regular reviews of your prescriptions to keep everything safe, effective, and simple to follow.

Commonly asked questions and answers
Have questions about scheduling or what to expect? Here are answers to common inquiries to help you feel fully prepared.
A diet program gives everyone roughly the same plan. Medical weight loss starts with your body: lab work, health history, medications you already take, and conditions like thyroid disease or prediabetes that can drive weight gain. From there, a physician-led team builds a treatment plan that may include medication, nutrition changes, and regular monitoring. It is the difference between guessing and knowing, and between a program that ends and care that continues.
Yes, when they are medically appropriate. GLP-1 medications can be an effective tool for weight loss, but they are prescription treatments with real side effects and eligibility criteria, so we start with an evaluation and lab work. If a GLP-1 is right for you, a qualified clinician oversees the prescription, and we monitor your progress and side effects at regular visits. If it is not right for you, we will say so and discuss other options.
It depends on your plan and the treatment. Some plans cover medical weight management visits, and coverage for GLP-1 medications varies widely, including prior authorization requirements. Our front desk works with Original Medicare, Medicare Advantage, Commercial, Marketplace, and Medicaid plans every day and can help you understand what your plan covers before you commit. Self-pay options are available too.
No. You can come to Miami Health Center just for weight loss care, and many patients do. That said, weight connects to nearly everything else in your health, so having your primary care and weight care in one office, with one chart and one team, tends to make both work better.
Your first visit is a conversation and an evaluation, not a sales pitch. We review your health history and medications, draw labs in our office, and talk honestly about your goals and what has and has not worked before. Then we build the plan together. You leave knowing exactly what your options are and what the next step looks like.
For hormone and metabolic conditions such as diabetes or thyroid disease, our endocrinology care is right here in the same office, so there is no separate referral trip. For other specialties, our team coordinates the referral, share your records, and follow up on the results so your care stays connected. You keep one primary care home throughout.
